So why is it ‘weakly’ game reviews? Well I was going to make a joke about the weekly game reviews domain being taken already, but as of writing this, that’s not the case. Kind of a surprise if I’m being honest.
Weakly Game Reviews came about because I like to play video games, and I like to write. The idea of reviewing new games and getting advanced copies has always been a pipe dream, but that’s not the direction I’m going with this. Instead, I decided to be a little more frugal and check the $5 and under section of Steam and found that every day there are new games coming out. Some days lots of games. Too many on others. Some days the releases are mostly puzzle games that you solve the puzzle and are rewarded with a lewd picture. I’ll be avoiding those.
What I’m looking for is the games that look like the most amount of fun based on the screenshots on their Steam page. And hopefully those games align with my rubric as much as possible, but I’m not hinging too much on that. Mostly what I’ll be finding are games that are, to put it nicely, bad. Not all obviously, but I’m not expecting anything top tier.
I’m going to explore the games that aren’t going to break the bank, in the hopes that other people will be able to find some joy while saving a little money. My reviews will definitely lean towards the forgiving side, because I’ve never made a video game, and am definitely not an expert. Think of it as more of an informative take on games that most people are going to ignore. Or miss altogether.
In the end, I’m not trying to prove anything about these games. All I hope, is to expose myself to as many games as I can, and give them the fair treatment they deserve. And to entertain whoever I can.
